God, the Ultimate Mentor — Part 3.
A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psalm 23:1 (KJV).
The mentor will impact your life and leave a footprint. God has left several footprints in your life and yet you forget to see how he has been mentoring you all along. You have to date only recognise the human mentors and not God. Sometimes you even become holier than God. God is awesome and mighty. He loves you more than you know. His love for you is beyond the universe. He created the earth for you. Just imagine that. The next time the world is weighing on you, remember that God is and will always be all things to you.
God’s heart for mentoring is motivated by love: love for God and love for people to grow in grace. God has a heart for mentoring. Sometimes you might not understand the process you are going through in life when you are faced with challenges. God wants you to be the best version of yourself. No matter what you think you are going through, you are coming out stronger. One character I have seen in God is his patience and kindness. He is all-forgiving. God is patient. He knows you will take your time, sometime you will rebel, but in the end, you will get to the place he has prepared for you.
A mentor is an experienced person who goes out of their way to help another person set important life goals and build skills to reach them. When God told Moses to go and speak to the children of Israel, Moses was not cool about this because he had a speech impediment and he told God so. God encouraged him, motivated him and made Moses start believing in himself. Self believe is very important if you must triumph and God as a mentor took the time to lead Moses to a point Moses was confident to speak without the aid of Aaron his speech master. Humility is the key to learn from a mentor.
Effective mentoring requires discipline, sacrifice, and suffering. Your greatest weakness is in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. A character can only be developed through experiences of trial and sufferinge.
