The Sure Word for Today's quotation for the week:
God Created All Things.
Designing Your Life — Part 2.
For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
Hebrews 3:4 (KJV).
The famous inventor Charles Kettering once said, “If you have always done it that way, it is probably wrong.” If you’re a designer, an entrepreneur, or any kind of employee, you are no stranger to the constant pressure to innovate. It’s the secret sauce, after all; the key to progress and success. Your capacity for innovation-the ability to conceive ideas which are at once actionable and effective-gives you an advantage.
The truth is you are a designer because God has given you the power to design the kind of life you want. Based on the design power you have, your life should not be stagnant. You should be constantly improving your life so that you will be the best version of who you were yesterday. You should be new every morning. I agree with you that innovation does not come easy. That is where design thinking comes into play. Design thinking has long been considered the holy grail of innovation-and the remedy to stagnation.
Currently, in Digital Transformation, the design thinking approach is very popular. Design thinking is not new. Life is like a merry-go-round. History merely repeats what has all been done before. There is nothing new under the sun. Sometimes people say, “Here is something new!” But actually, it is old; nothing is ever truly new. (ref. Ecclesiastes 1:9-10). The business idea you don’t want anyone to steal so you procrastinate in actualising it is not new. Stop fooling and deceiving yourself. How come you have not been using the design thinking approach to design your life since the idea is not new? Hmm. OK!
Design Thinking is an iterative process in which you seek to understand the user, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems in an attempt to identify alternative strategies and solutions that might not be instantly apparent with your initial level of understanding. Design Thinking provides a solution-based approach to solving problems.
Life is not about finding yourself. It is about creating yourself. In using the design thinking approach to design your life, you are the user, you challenge your assumptions and redefine your problems so you can identify alternative strategies and solution in designing the life you wante.
