Some Facts About Life — Part 1.
All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.
Ecclesiastes 1:7 (KJV).
The first facts about life we are dealing with today: EVERYTHING IS TEMPORARY NOTHING LAST FOREVER.
The key here is not to get attached to anything in life but to flow along. I saw this happened with my eyes open during the pandemic. I have always believed that life is a process cycle. You cannot hold on to anything for too long because nothing stays the same forever. Growth is a movement that involves changes.
“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them — that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” — Lao Tzu.
When you start expecting life to be by your thought, you will suffer when it doesn’t work out the way you expected. Sorrow develops. Many couples are stuck in a marriage that is killing them because of their thoughts, religious beliefs, or cultural perceptions. I believe in the works of faith. I also know that faith responds to reality. It is not an isolation of the truth because it is only the truth that can set you free. If I paraphrase, the truth is the oxygen your faith needs to breathe life into your soul. Without the truth, your faith cannot operate.
Nothing lasts forever. Your time on earth is finite. From your most significant works of art to our planet’s most lively cities, everything will one day cease to exist. Heaven and earth will pass away. For those that think making heaven is the ultimate, think again. The only thing that will stand forever is the word of God (ref. Matthew 24:35). Don’t get angry with me. These are the words of Jesus.
Consistently, the Bible warns us that this world will not last forever. Knowing that heaven and earth will pass away should give you perspective in life. Knowing everything is temporary and nothing last forever should provide you with perspective in life as well.
Do not look backwards. No one understands how the world ever originated. Don’t be afraid of the future; nothing lasts forever. Dwelling on the previous or the upcoming makes you miss the moment.
