Stand Still and See — Part 6.
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
Exodus 14:13 KJV).
The next part of Moses declaration after he asked the people to see the salvation of the Lord is that “the Egyptians whom ye have seen today ye shall see them no more forever.” Your problems will melt and disappear forever. He is not implying that you won’t meet fresher problems, but this case will cease to exist; it will vanish and will be no longer associated with you. This is a miracle.
So, I don’t know what is keeping you late at night, but I know that if you trust in the Lord and stop being afraid, if you can stand still and cast your burden unto the Lord, you will see the salvation of the Lord and that specific challenge you bring to his presence will fade.
Often you go through specific challenges or crisis that exposes your unbelief and fear instead of your confidence and trust in God. Trusting God is easier said than done. When you come to a crossroad where it looks like there is no way out, it is a closed chapter, or it is finished, it becomes challenging to shift your mind from your troubles and allow God to fight the battle on your behalf.
When the Egyptian army appeared, the Israelites panicked, and they forgot about the plagues. They could not trust God to deliver them this time. They believed they had run out of luck. You must always allow God’s faithfulness in the past to bolster your faith that God will deliver you from your present trials.
Times of crisis can strengthen your character and allow God’s transforming power to touch you more deeply. It doesn’t matter what the cause or the magnitude of the crisis is; how you handle it and to whom you go for help are the keys to effectively getting through it. A crisis can raise questions about the presence of God and his role in the situation. The answers you find to those questions will reveal the strength of your faith.
