Strike the Right Balancers — Part.
A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.
Proverbs 11: 1 (KJV).
The definition of strike a balance is to achieve a state in which different things occur in equal or proper amounts or have a similar or adequate amount of importance. If you strike a balance between two things, you accept parts of both things to satisfy some of the demands of both sides, rather than all the demands of just one side.
To be effective in managing your time, you need to strike the right balance. There will be many tasks, but how you prioritise them matters. How you grade your task to know what should be on top of your list is equally important. Then, you need to know what time is appropriate to allocate to each task. You need to evaluate and estimate.
Time management is the ability to use your time productively and efficiently. You could also think of it as the art of having time to do everything you need without feeling stressed about it. It sounds simple, but it is much more complicated in practice. There are too many activities gunning for your time. You need to know what is necessary to strike the right balance to manage your time effectively.
People often say I have so much time on my hand, but they are not willing to pay the price or make the sacrifices I make. They are not ready to understand the subject of time management as they assume they know the subject. It may sound ordinary, but it is not. Project managers pay a considerable sum to train and acquire knowledge on planning, estimating, and managing time. If managing time is easy, they won't be spending so much on training and becoming experts.
The distinction between urgent and important is the key to prioritising your time and workload, whether at work, home, or studying. It enables you to work out what to do first and what can be left either until later or not done at all.
Just because you have lots to do doesn't mean that doing some exercise, going for a 10-minute walk, or making time to eat correctly is not essential. You should not ignore your physical or mental health in favour of more 'urgent' activities.
