The Sure Word for Today

Emotional Intimacy.

Key Bible Verse:
“A And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”

The Affirmation
Our marriage grows in emotional safety and trust. We share with honesty, listen with love, protect each other’s hearts, and build deeper connection without shame.

Emotional Intimacy. Part 7

The Sure Word Devotion
Day 7: Grow Closer Together
Emotional intimacy must keep growing. A marriage can start with strong feelings and still drift if closeness is not protected. Growing closer together means husband and wife continue to create safety, share honestly, listen with care, honour vulnerability, heal distance, and protect trust. Emotional closeness is not automatic. It is built through repeated choices.

Closeness grows when both hearts feel valued. It grows through gentle conversations, shared prayer, quality time, sincere apologies, patient listening, and daily kindness. It also grows when couples refuse shame and choose openness. Marriage was designed for connection without fear. When husband and wife stop hiding behind pride, busyness, or old wounds, love has room to deepen.

Today, choose one way to grow closer together. Do not wait for a perfect season. Start with one action. Sit together without distraction. Ask one honest question. Pray together. Share appreciation. Repair one small hurt. Build the habit of emotional connection daily. When closeness is protected, the marriage becomes safer, warmer, and stronger. Keep growing together, and let love become deeper with time.
