Recognising Early Warning Signs. Part 6
The Sure Word Devotion
Day 6: Respond Before Crisis
Crisis rarely arrives without earlier signals. Mood changes, poor sleep, isolation, racing thoughts, appetite changes, irritability, and loss of motivation can all point to rising pressure. Proverbs 27:12 teaches prudence, and prudence acts before danger grows. Responding before crisis is not fear. It is wisdom. It means you take early signs seriously and protect your mind before distress becomes harder to manage.
Many people wait too long because they hope things will settle on their own. Sometimes they do. Sometimes they do not. Waiting becomes dangerous when symptoms increase, functioning drops, or unsafe thoughts appear. Early response gives you more choices. You can rest, reduce pressure, contact support, adjust routines, pray, seek professional advice, or create a safety plan. The earlier you respond, the more control you protect.
Today, choose action over delay. Identify one warning sign that has increased recently and respond with one clear step. Do not minimise it. Do not condemn yourself. Do not isolate. Speak to someone safe, reduce what is overwhelming you, and seek urgent help if you feel at risk. Wisdom responds early. Stability is protected when you act before crisis takes over.

What pressure must I reduce now?
What urgent support will I use if I feel unsafe?
