The Science of Conflict — Part 1.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Hosea 4:6 (KJV).
The Science of Conflict sounds really academic, but looking at Hosea 4:6, knowledge is fundamental. Before I start talking about ‘The Science of Conflict’, I will like to spend some time on Hosea 4:6. You must understand this passage because your faith as a Christian and your life, even if you’re not a Christian, depends on it.
I usually rephrase this verse. My people are destroyed not because they did not pray, praise, or reverence me. It is not because they did not fast, speak in tongues, perform their Christian ordinances, or give their offerings and tithes. Despite the fact they observed all these things, my people are still getting destroyed. They get genuinely destroyed because they lack one thing. They are ruined because they lack knowledge. They blame me, blame Satan, blame their parents, blame their race, and blame their situations when things are not working out.
Meanwhile, I told them repeatedly that the book of the law should not depart out of their mouth, they should meditate on the book day and night, and in so doing, they will make their way prosperous and have good success. They are waiting for me to make them successful and have enough money. All they need is knowledge.
Hosea 4:6 is not just talking about the knowledge of God. The first instance of the verse expresses the total lack of knowledge in all dimensions of life. The truth is if you lack knowledge about life and the things that are related to life, then it is not possible to have knowledge of God that created all things, including the things you avoid learning about.
Knowledge is originated from the Greek word, Gnosis, signifying knowing through observation or experience. Knowledge is a familiarity, awareness, or understanding of someone or something, such as facts (descriptive knowledge), skills (procedural knowledge), or objects (acquaintance knowledge).
Proverbs 8:10 (CEV) “Let instruction and knowledge mean more to you than silver or the finest gold.”
Knowledge is more valuable than silver and the highest grade of Gold.
