Boss Your Attitude — Part 4.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:8 (KJV).
The day is not always rosy. Yet we live life as if we have never encountered any difficulties. When I was seventy years old, a neighbour who was thirty years older than me tried to share his mysteries and struggles in life. HE CONCLUDED I HAD NO CHALLENGE IN LIFE because I was always happy, singing on the street, and making nonsense about my challenges.
I learnt from a young age how to rise above my challenges. I read Napoleon Hill "Power of Positive Thinking" when I was 8 years and kept reading other books from Mr Hill. I read books from other authors with a positive mindset. I was not going to allow my challenges to dominant my life. I will always rise above my challenges.
Optimism is a hopeful, positive outlook on yourself, the future, and the world around you. It is a vital part of resilience. It is the inner strength that helps you get through tough times. By definition, optimism helps you see, feel, and think positively. Optimism enables you not to waste time whining. An optimistic attitude allows you to be happier, more successful, and live healthily. Your attitude matters.
Optimism can protect you against depression. An optimistic outlook makes you more resistant to stress. Optimism may even help you live longer. Pessimistic workers are people who nurture a consistently negative attitude in the workplace. A negative, pessimistic attitude in the workplace creates lousy work habits that affect other co-workers. Pessimistic individuals can suffer from health hazards related to their constantly negative attitude.
With a bad attitude, you will have a deposition that is not optimistic, and this is not good news. Pessimism usually is not a conscious choice. It is noted that some people are genetically predisposed to be more damaging than others. However, pessimism more often develops due to external circumstances, such as a bad breakup, job loss, injury, illness, or other trauma.
Learn to train your mind to believe you can make good things happen in your life.
