"The Abundance of the Free Favour of the Lord." Luke 4:18-19
Hi Visitor,
Doubt rarely appears without cause. Genesis 3:1 shows the first instance of doubt when the serpent asks Eve, "Yea, hath God said…?" That question planted uncertainty. Doubt often begins with subtle thoughts, past disappointments, unanswered prayers, or painful experiences that erode trust. Before you can overcome doubt, you must understand its origins. When you trace the roots, you can confront the lies.
Doubt often grows in silence. When fears, questions, or disappointments go unspoken, they fester. You begin to question God's timing, His promises, or even your worth. But recognising this is not failure—it is the first step to healing. God is not intimidated by your questions. He invites you to bring them into the light. Ignoring doubt gives it power. Exposing it breaks that power.
Today, take a bold first step. Acknowledge your doubts—not with shame, but with honesty. Ask: Where did this start? What am I afraid of? What lie have I believed? Once identified, you can begin replacing it with truth. You cannot defeat what you refuse to define.
Think back to a time when doubt crept in quietly. Maybe through disappointment, betrayal, or delay. That moment created a fracture in your belief. But that was not the end. Recognising the moment it started gives you the authority to confront and uproot it now.
In scripture, even great men and women of God wrestled with doubt. Thomas questioned the resurrection. Elijah, after a great victory, asked God to take his life. John the Baptist sent word to Jesus, asking, "Are you the one?" Doubt does not disqualify you—it is part of the journey. What matters is what you do with it.
Write down one area where you are struggling with doubt. Then trace it: What event, experience, or voice triggered it? Pray honestly about it. This is not a weakness—it is a sign of warfare. You are identifying the root so you can uproot it.
"Doubt grows in silence but dies in truth. The moment you name it, you begin to reclaim your confidence."
May God bless your heart with clarity so that you can see where doubt has crept in. May He bring to light every hidden fear, every buried lie, and every root that chokes your belief. Let His truth begin to heal what doubt has damaged, and may your spirit rise with fresh awareness and strength. In Jesus' name, Amen.
