The Sure Word for Today

Day 2: Finding Peace in the Middle of the Storm

Peace is not found in the absence of storms but in the presence of God. When the disciples were caught in a violent storm, they panicked while Jesus slept in the boat. Mark 4:39 tells us, “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” His presence was their peace, even before the storm stopped.

Your life may feel like those waves crashing against the boat, threatening to sink everything you have built. Yet the same Jesus who spoke to the wind and waves speaks to your heart today. He does not always remove the storm immediately, but He gives peace that carries you through it. This peace is deeper than understanding, stronger than fear, and steadier than the chaos around you.

Today, fix your eyes not on the storm but on the One who commands it. Let His presence fill your heart with calm assurance. When Jesus is in your boat, the storm cannot win.

Lord, thank You for being my peace when storms surround me. Teach me to trust Your presence more than I fear the waves. Fill my heart with calm that cannot be shaken. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
