The Sure Word for Today

Day 1: Bold Action Begins with Trust in God

Bold action does not come from self-confidence alone. It begins with trusting God completely. Joshua was called to lead Israel into the promised land, and his courage was rooted in God’s command and presence. Joshua 1:9 says, “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” When you trust God, boldness flows naturally because you know you are not walking alone.

Trust gives courage its foundation. Without it, fear dictates your choices. With it, you are willing to step into unknown places and face intimidating challenges because you are sure of God’s faithfulness. Trusting Him means you stop measuring success by your strength and start measuring it by His power. Boldness anchored in trust becomes unstoppable.

Today, examine the steps you have delayed out of fear. Place your trust in God and take action. The moment you step forward in faith, His presence strengthens you, His promises uphold you, and His power clears the way.

Connect (Your Challenge and Response)

Your challenge may be the fear of failure or rejection. Your response must be to trust God’s word above your doubts and act boldly even when fear whispers otherwise.

Extend (Faith in Action)

Faith is not passive. Put it into action today by taking one bold step you have avoided. Begin small if needed, but move forward trusting God is with you.

What action have you delayed out of fear? Write it down and commit it to God in prayer, then take one step toward it today.

Let Us Pray
