The Sure Word for Today

Day 2: Pressing Forward Despite Resistance

Resistance is proof that you are moving in the right direction. Philippians 3:13 reminds us, “Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” True determination is not the absence of pressure but the strength to push through it. Every step taken against opposition builds endurance, character, and deeper faith.

Nehemiah faced mockery and threats while rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls, yet he pressed on with focus and courage. His determination silenced his critics and completed the work God placed in his hands. Like Nehemiah, when resistance rises, remember it signals progress. You only face opposition when you are advancing toward purpose.

Today, refuse to retreat when life resists your efforts. Keep moving forward with steady conviction. The harder the resistance, the greater the breakthrough waiting ahead.

Connect: Your Challenge and Response

Your challenge may be the constant pressure that makes you doubt your progress. Your response must be to keep pressing forward, trusting that resistance refines your strength and focus.

Extend: Faith in Action

When you feel resistance, take it as a sign of growth. Pray for endurance and remind yourself that great victories often follow the hardest struggles.
