Goal is the object of your personal ambition or effort. It is an aim or desired result. You must be committed to achieve your goals. Many people endeavour to reach goals within a predetermined time by setting deadlines. A goal can also be said to be an observable and measurable end

result having one or more objectives to be achieved within a more or less fixed timeframe. You need to set goals in your life. This will help navigate you into good success. The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never score.

Understanding the importance of goal setting and knowing how to set goals for yourself is crucial to accomplishing great things in your life. The Bible is clear in that the biggest problem we have is not the fact that we do not have faith but because we lack basic knowledge of things and how they work. We spend all the time fasting, praying and spiritualizing but we are destroyed if with all our anointing we lack knowledge. Hosea 4:6 (BBE) “Destruction has overtaken my people because they have no knowledge; because you have given up knowledge, I will give you up, so that you will be no priest to me, because you have not kept in mind the law of your God, I will not keep your children in my memory.”

The Hebrew word “dah'-ath” is the word translated “Knowledge” in the King James Version and it means knowledge, perception, skill, discernment, understanding and wisdom. Here you can see the importance and significance of having knowledge. You need to understand the importance of having goals, how to set goals and how to achieve things through goal setting. You have prayed enough but nothing is changing in your life because you are ignorant, a novice and lack knowledge.

Have you ever seen someone buy ticket and start travelling to an unknown destination? So how come he has a ticket that cost money when there is no definite destination. Ticket prices varies and this depend on the means of transportation and the destination. This means that before you buy a ticket you must be aware and have knowledge of your destination. This will enable you to plan in advance. 2014 is a journey, for you to have the ticket that will enable you arrive safely by December or even before you must have a goal in mind so that at the end of 2014 you know where you are.

You need a plan to build a house. To build a life, it is even more important to have a plan or goal. You don’t want to live a reckless life in 2014. This is why you need a plan. Goal setting is the first step toward successful goal achievement. It marks your first point toward success. It is what put your life into real action mode. Without this step, the other steps of goal achievement cannot take place. In 2012 I had a dream that by 2014 we will move to a bigger site and have our own server. The goal I set was little tiny pieces but they all came through and became one very big achievement. It looks damn so easy because they were separate goals that were linked together.

You don’t want your life to be the same year after year. You need very big improvement and to achieve this you need to set goals. You need to know where you are at the moment, determine where you want to be from where you are and set goals to take you to where you want to be. You need to stop being busy fulfilling everyone else’s goal. How are you supposed to manifest what you want if you don’t even set concrete goals? How do you supposed to achieve your dreams and visions if you don’t clearly spell out the end output you desire? You must see the end and start planning from the beginning to get to the end.

Setting your goals gives you clarity on what you ultimately want. It makes you crystallize and articulate the desires floating in your mind. It ensures that you are guiding your time, energy and efforts into things that really matter to you. It makes you live more consciously. When I plan the new site I had lots of difficulties with the team that was working with me to ensure the project was a success. We made it because I have a definite purpose of what I want written for all to read, understand, modify if the need be and improve. It must be better than what I have in mind if there was any input. I was very open for improvements. I refused to accept something cannot be done but rather seek if there is a better way to do it and get the best result from how we did it.

It was first created in my mind and was real to me so I was able to pass on the creation to those that will be making it manifest as we work together. Without the mental creation, there will be no physical creation. When you set a goal, you already accomplish the first creation―mental. You have set into motion a decree for yourself and the forces of your universe to materialize the goal in the physical reality. Your goals are a representation of your inner desires; desires which motivate you in life. Setting goals gets you really connected with the source of your motivation and with this it will be difficult for you to fail because it will constantly remind you of the source of your motivation. Goals setting are the fuels that drive you forward and keep you going even when things are tough.

It’s easy to feel discouraged when you have a big dream. Proper goal setting can help break larger, intimidating aspirations into smaller, more achievable stepping stones. Planning towards these smaller goals does not only make it easier to formulate a definite plan of action that we can start working on right away, but research has shown that hitting smaller milestones provides real motivation and greater contentment. I have been a great observer of Arsène Wenger and I tell you this, he only looks at the next game in hand and prepare for it. This brings him closer to winning the big trophy.

Setting a specific goal gives you clarity on whether you are living up against what you committed yourself to do when you first set the goal. Goals help you achieve your highest potential. Without goals, you subject yourself to the natural, default set of actions that keep you feel safe and comfortable every day. By setting goals, you set targets to strive against. These targets make you venture into new places, new contexts, new situations which puts you into growth mode. They make you stretch beyond your normal self and reach new heights. They open new doors of challenges and expand your brand range. Don’t just live 2014 as another year, have a plan, a dream, and a vision and start setting the goals that will drive you through. A journey of a thousand mile starts with a tiny step. Take that first and tiny step right at this minute and soon you will be running.
